About This Spot

Mike’s Deli is the kind of local gem that greets you with the comforting hum of a busy neighborhood spot, where the pace invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Nestled along W Slauson Avenue, this deli carries an unmistakable air of care and familiarity — a place where the scent of freshly made sandwiches and warm baked cookies mingles effortlessly with the friendly chatter behind the counter.

The atmosphere is quietly vibrant, balanced somewhere between a cherished old-school deli and a casual eatery where everyone knows your name. There’s a sense of rhythm here, a comforting routine seen in the way the owner can often be found taking orders, making sure each sandwich is made just right. It feels less like a transactional visit and more like stepping into a small community hub, with warm smiles and genuine hospitality lending themselves to an easygoing neighborhood vibe.

Here, the food is woven into the experience, celebrating straightforward, satisfying flavors that linger long after the last bite. Whether it’s the layered goodness of a classic tuna salad sandwich — affectionately known by locals as something “bomb” — or the kick of wings and sweet potato fries that shine alongside heartier, crafted subs, every dish feels thoughtfully made. The selection speaks to a crowd that loves to indulge while still appreciating freshness and quality, with options that invite both comfort and a touch of culinary curiosity.

Mike’s Deli isn’t just about the food, though that plays a starring role. It’s the space itself — a lively corner where neighbors drop in for a familiar taste of home and visitors feel welcomed to slow down and discover something worth returning for. It’s the kind of place that leaves you feeling full in the best possible way — nourished not just by what’s on your plate but by the unspoken warmth of an authentic local encounter.

If you are from the east coast and know what a bodega sandwich is.. this place will get your right! Had to get tmy classic.. Boar's Head ovengold turkey with sweet peppers and provolone and all the other fixings. I also got the butter cake peach cobbler from Sydni Swets which should be illegal but I am glad they are supporting local businesses and putting their products in store to compliment the sandwiches. I also reied the Zu Zu special I just needed more dressings..its a good sandwich just was a little dry the avocado saves it for me. But would get extra sauce on the side the next time. Definitely recommend this place!

Hey, you guys, so I'm back with my review for Mike's Deli. It smells very fresh when you walk in. I talked to one of the ladies working because we noticed the owner in the picture, and she said she has been there since the beginning and he works damn near every day. I was blown away because you barely see an owner that's actually working taking orders. Anyway, I ordered the Italian sandwich with bacon and a corn beef sandwich with extra meat on Rye and some fries. I did really enjoy the sandwich, but the bread could have been a little more soft. Last time, I ordered the wings, and they were ok. I also ordered two cakes, lemon and strawberry, and they were really good. I got the cake on the counter where you pay not from the fridge area because they are different. All together, the total was about 57.00. They have a variety of drinks and chips and pickles and sides you can order as well. I really like the setup of the restaurant. I always get the boars head pickles because they are so good.

Mikes Deli is soooo fire! I love the wings and Zuzu Special. Honestly everything they serve is a hit. Parking lot is definitely tight and can be challenging during busier times.

By far one of the best Deli’s, I’ve been to in my life. Not only do they have great and fast service, but their customer service is beyond exceptional. Went for the first time on Saturday & ordered 2 classic on sourdough. Unfortunately one of the sandwiches was given to me in the wrong bread but once I gave them a call, they completely took care of me and I completely respect that because accountability in 2025 is unheard of. Live like 10 minutes away this will become my full-time deli. I’ll probably stop at least once a week. The sandwich was 13.99 before taxes.

Always the best!! Look forward to coming to LA just to have Mikes!! We come here everytime we are in the area. I love the ZuZu special. My hubby tries different sandwiches and hasn't complained about one yet. We have tried the wings and some of the salads and were happy with them. A must try if you are in LA and craving a deli sandwich.

I walked in..... I was like ohh this the chip store! It's a parade of a variety of chips. Then I looked around and saw all the different drinks in the cooler and thought they won't let you go thirsty. I order the sweet and spicy which wasn't spicy nor sweet and it was a little dry maybe the bread texture soaked up the mayo??? This deli cooks hot wings which you know I had to try, and it's a hot hot wing thing a yes thing over all yes I'll be back
